The East Lancashire Model Railway (Charitable) Organisation is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2006 by Mr Fred Coupe, and Lord Eric Coupe. January of 2007 saw our first event, and such was the success , that it became an annual event each January, until 2014. From 2014 onwards, the event in January became a 2 day event, and we added a second event in May/June. The events have grown in popularity year upon year.
We became independent from Blackburn with Darwen Care Service, in September 2012. and obtained our charity status/register in June of 2014.
ELMRO was from the start, and very much still is, a family driven organisation. From the oldest, to the youngest, everyone has been getting involved.
All of the events we have organised, have raised money for different local (East Lancashire) charities, or partnerships we made with other charities prior to the event.
